Visual3D Tools Pipeline commands: Metric Mean
This tutorial shows you how to calculate a metric mean of a signal and how to do it as an automatic step in the pipeline.
There can be many reasons to calculate the mean of a signal from your data. In Visual3D, the best way to do this is to use the metric mean function. A simple application of this would be to obtain the mean of the vertical force on a force plate while a subject is standing on it. This metric mean will be the weight of the subject, and it can be stored in the global workspace for easy reference.
This video goes beyond just showing you how to use the metric mean function, but also how to do it from the pipeline. In the example, automating the calculation of the subject’s weight reduces required inputs from the user and possible errors.
