Visual3D Principles Static vs dynamic
This tutorial explores the differences between static and dynamic trials and how they are used in Visual3D.
To properly collect biomechanical kinematic data with a motion capture system, you will almost always need both a static and a dynamic trial. The static trial is used to define the biomechanical model, which is then applied to the dynamic trial. Depending on the marker set you are using, the two types of trials may use different markers, and static-only markers may be removed before dynamic recordings.
