Visual3D Principles Mocap segment tracking
This video demonstrates how and why to use marker clusters to track segments during dynamic motion capture trials.
In some cases, the markers used to define a segment are not ideal for tracking the segment’s movement—for instance, due to skin movement or markers getting blocked from view of the cameras. In these cases, it is helpful to use an additional group of markers for accurate tracking.
In the example shown in this video, using a marker cluster reduces the impact of skin movement artefact and makes it easier for the cameras to view the markers without occlusions.
