Visual3D Tools Landmark definition: projected
In this tutorial, we show how to define a landmark in Visual3D by projecting an existing landmark or target onto a plane.
Projecting a landmark can provide useful data for a variety of purposes. One common example is to track the motion of a subject’s center of mass with respect to the floor. Not only can this give you the anterior progression during motions such as gait, but it can also help quantify medial lateral sway.
This video discusses the theory behind projected landmarks and shows how to project a point onto a plane using three global landmarks that define the floor.
